Spring Bucket List

Spring is nearly here, so it’s time for a spring bucket list!

It’s March so I’m declaring it spring! I don’t know about you, but the doldrums of winter just went on and on here, from gray skies and frozen pipes to ice storms and TWO straight weeks of being laid up from a nasty cold + stomach virus combination. I am ready for some sunshine and warmth!

Spring is my favorite season. I love the way nature comes alive after the winter, the explosion of color and greenery and the feel of sunshine on my face. Spring is the season of Easter and my birthday and represents a season of renewal for me, of fresh beginnings. Longer days and buoyant spirits give me a chance to assess, to check in with myself, to come out of the hibernation funk that always catches me at the end of winter.

Life has sped up around here: with the deployment – and move – just around the corner, we’ve gone into full-on prep mode. Things that seem small tasks (rent a storage unit, give notice on our apartment) pop up nearly every day, and then there’s the massive logistical tasks like making sure the car’s deed is in both our names and getting wills done and whatnot. Deployment makes things for real.

All of that to say: my spring bucket list isn’t so traditionally spring-ish this year, because we’re moving and Logan’s deploying. [Also, there’s no flowers here in Oklahoma. Just pollen.] My list this round isn’t so much a template of suggestions for you this season but reflection of life happening.
