1largeciabatta loafstale
7ozfontina cheese grated (200g)
7oz prosciutto(200g)
12eggs
¾cupmilk
¾cupcream
salt & pepperto taste
handfulchives
Instructions
Cut the crusts off the bread and then slice.
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs together. Add milk, cream, salt and pepper.
Grease an 8x8 baking dish and place a layer of bread slices. Pour about ⅓ of the egg mixture over it, then add a generous layer of cheese. Top with a layer of prosciutto.
Repeat with one or two more layers, depending on the thickness of your bread and depth of pan. Finish with any remaining cheese.
Refrigerate overnight or for a few hours.
When ready to eat, preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake 30-40 minutes until liquid is set.
