But one thing we’re one hundred percent not giving up is celebrating milestones! So today, I give you: the zoom bridal shower cocktail.
It’s all the things you want in a great bridal shower drink:
bubbly? check.
fruity? check.
sweet but not too sweet? check.
best of all, easy to make? check check check!
I know many of us have pivoted to throwing parties and showers online instead of in person. After my third? fourth? zoom party, I decided it’s time to institute a zoom cocktail.
One of my favorite parts about hosting a party is the food and drink! And since there’s an ocean between me and most of my people right now, sharing a cocktail recipe feels just a bit easier than shipping everyone food. 😉
With spring just around the corner, it seems necessary to get some warm weather flavors in there. So strawberries, mint and lime are the order of the day! Sweeten it up with a little St. Germain and you’ve got a perfect little sip!
I know just enough about classic cocktails to always be thinking about how they relate. This creation is a cross between a French 75 and a Hugo spritz, which are two of my favorite warm weather cocktails!
I’ve used gin here because I like the balance of the dryness of gin contrasting with St. Germain. But if gin’s not your thing, you can substitute vodka and still end up with a great cocktail.
This one is for my cousin Grace’s upcoming bridal shower! So without further ado, here’s my St. Germain and strawberry spritz, AKA the zoom bridal shower cocktail.
Tools you’ll need: measuring cups, wine glass, knife.
St. Germain and Strawberry Spritz
Ingredients
- 2 strawberries sliced
- 3-4 mint leaves
- 1 oz St. Germain
- ½ oz gin or vodka
- 3 oz Prosecco
- 1 tsp lime juice
Instructions
- In a glass, measure out each ingredient. Top with ice and serve!
